Hobo Hot Springs

Hands-down, the Hobo Hot Springs in Saratoga, is one of our favorite ways to relax after a big day of adventure.  The Hot Springs are free to the public and are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  These hot springs are a true Carbon County gem.  Much of the history of Saratoga revolves around the world famous mineral hot springs and thermal waters.  This is the ultimate destination for healthy relaxation.  For more information: https://www.saratogachamber.info/play/mineral-hot-springs

Museums and Shopping

County has some of the most unique museums and shops.  Be sure to visit the local stores, including The Red Wagon in Encampment and the shops located on "main street" (W. Bridge Avenue) in downtown Saratoga.  Favorite museums include The Grand Encampment Museum, the Saratoga Museum, and Wyoming's Frontier Prison, which is located in Rawlins.  Visit the shops to find Wyoming treasures and spend time soaking up the cowboy and western history of the local museums.

Rick Martin Memorial Park

The Rick Martin Memorial Park is located directly across the street from Cottonwood Cabins.  This lovely park is well equipped with playground equipment, a basketball court, horseshoe pit, picnic tables, and disc golf course.  Enjoy!

Medicine Bow National Forest

Located in the southeast section of Wyoming, the Medicine Bow National Forest is comprised of over one millions acres of pristine mountains and forests.  These mountains offer a wide range of recreational opportunities.  Rock-climbing, rafting, boating, and fishing are some of the activities enjoyed in this forest.

Rafting, Kayaking, and River Fun

The Encampment River offers exciting technical kayaking.  The North Plate River is known for white water and scenic float trips.  Several area outfitters offer fishing packages along with scenic river rafting.  In the Saratoga, Encampment, and Riverside area there are twelve river access points along the North Platte offering rafters and boaters a variety of launch points.

Battle Pass Scenic Drive

The Battle Highway along Wyoming's Highway 70 stretches across the Sierra Madre Mountains from Riverside.  The scenic highway passes historic sites along the way including Battle ghost town and the Edison Monument.  Battle Pass, on the Continental Divide, provides a sweeping view of the Sierra Madre Mountain Range.  Traffic on the highway is typically light and wide shoulders make this an excellent bicycle route as well.  Visit the Wyoming Tourism website for additional information.  https://travelwyoming.com/listings/battle-pass-scenic-byway/
